QUESTION 2 [20 MARKS] Determine the torque \( T \) of a bar, and angle of twist if: (a) Solid bar with diameter \( 0.05 \mathrm{~m} \) as shown in Figure 2(a). [10 marks] (b) Hollow bar with outside and inside diameter \( 0.05 \mathrm{~m} \) and \( 0.025 \mathrm{~m} \) respectively as in Figure \( 2(b) \) [10 marks] Given maximum shearing stress is \( 50 \times 10^{3} \mathrm{kN} / \mathrm{m}^{2} \) and \( \mathrm{G}=80 \times 10^{6} \mathrm{kN} / \mathrm{m}^{2} \).
